Plymouth governance referendum
On Thursday 17 July 2025 , voters in Plymouth will be able to vote in a governance referendum.
The question you will be asked on the ballot paper is:
How would you like Plymouth City Council to be run?
By a leader, who is an elected councillor chosen by a vote of the other elected councillors. This is how the Council is run now.or
By a mayor, who is elected by voters. This would be a change from how the Council is run now.

PlymptonIt will be open from 7a.m. to 10p.m. on Thursday 17 July 2025
You don't need to take your poll card with you.
If you have a postal vote, you can hand it in at this polling station on election day up to 10pm.

You do not need your poll card to vote. You must vote at your assigned polling station.

Voting by post
If you know that you won't be able to get to the polling station on polling day, you can vote by post. You have until 02 July 2025 to Apply for a postal vote.

If you have a postal vote, your local council will send your postal voting pack around three weeks before polling day.
